Abdul Majid, a 22-year-old who participated in the anti-discrimination student protests, was critically injured in a police shooting on August 4th in Sherpur, Bogra. He was struck by at least 300 shrapnel bullets, which are scattered throughout his body. Despite multiple surgeries to remove 14 bullets, many remain embedded.
Short Biography:
Majid, from a low-income family, was working as a daily wage laborer to support his family, which includes his paralyzed mother and elder brother. His family lives in a rented tin-shed house.
Medical Condition and Financial Hardship:
Due to the severity of his injuries, Majid’s left side is now paralyzed. Doctors have recommended advanced treatment, but his family cannot afford the expenses. The family has exhausted their savings and borrowed money from relatives to cover the initial medical costs.
