During the protests on July 18th at BRAC University’s main gate, the protester was caught in the crossfire between students and police. Despite not being primarily involved in the quota issue, he joined the protests due to solidarity with his peers. When police started attacking the campus, he was hit by shrapnel from a grenade, sustaining multiple injuries. He was rushed to several hospitals for treatment, including AIMES, Holy Family Hospital, Harun Eye Care, Shyamoly Ideal Eye Care, and Omega Hospital. Despite multiple surgeries, he still has shrapnel lodged in his body, particularly in his eyes.
Short Biography:
The protester, a student at BRAC University, was born and raised in Qatar but returned to Bangladesh to pursue architecture. He became deeply involved in the protests and was injured during a police crackdown. Despite his injuries, he remains determined to contribute to Bangladesh’s development and hopes for systemic changes in the country.
