Karimul Islam, a young man from Jatrabari, Dhaka, was fatally shot by police during a protest against the government. The incident occurred on August 5th, and Karimul succumbed to his injuries on September 30th.
Short Biography:
Karimul’s family home is in Kacharhati village, Lakhai Upazila, Habiganj. However, he lived with his wife, Moyna Akhtar, in a rented house near the Kutubkhali Noor Mosque in Jatrabari. Karimul worked as a laborer in a lemon market in Jatrabari.
Karimul’s younger brother, Md. Sultan, said that Karimul was the eldest of four brothers. He got married a year ago. His wife, Moyna, is three months pregnant.
