Atiqul Islam, a 19-year-old, lost his right arm after being shot during protests in Bangladesh. On August 5, following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation amid the student and public movement, Atiqul was shot near Uttara East Police Station in Dhaka. Initially, the bullet was removed at a private hospital, but his arm’s condition worsened due to delayed treatment. He was later admitted to the National Orthopedic Hospital (Pangu Hospital), where doctors had to amputate his arm on August 7 to save his life. Despite the loss, Atiqul remains resilient and proud of his role in the movement.
